🧰 Installation Tutorial Diagbox 9.85 native (Windows 7, 8, 10, 11)

This guide explains How to install Diagbox 9.85 directly on your Windows system, without a virtual machine (native installation).
Compatible with Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 (64-bit recommended).

⚙️ Prerequisites before installation

Before you start, make sure you:

• Have a computer running Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11.

• Having downloaded the archive: Diagbox_9.85_noVM.zip.

• Own the installation password (provided with your purchase).

• Temporarily disable your antivirus and Windows Defender.

• Execute all the steps as an administrator.

🗂️ Step 1 – Unzip the archive

1. Locate the downloaded file:
   Diagbox_9.85_noVM.zip

2. Right click → Extract hereor use WinRAR / 7-Zip to unwind.

3. A folder will be created containing the installation file:
   DiagBox9.85.exe

🧱 Step 2 – Creating and excluding the folder AWRoot

1. Create a folder named C:\AWRoot

2. Add this file to the exclusions of your antivirus and Windows Defender to avoid any blockage during installation.

➕ Exclude AWRoot in Windows Defender

1. Open:
   Windows Settings → Update & Security → Windows Security

2. Click on Protection against viruses and threats

3. Go down to Virus and threat protection settingsAnd click Manage settings

4. At the bottom, click on Add or remove exclusions

5. Accounts Manager Add an exclusion → Folder

6. Choose the folder C:\AWRoot and validate.

🧩 Exclude AWRoot in your antivirus software

1. Open your antivirus software.

2. Look for the option Exclusions / Exceptions / Exclude a file.

3. Add the path C:\AWRoot and validate.

💿 Step 3 – Installing Diagbox 9.85 software

1. In the extracted folder, open DiagBox9.85.exe
   (right click → Execute as administrator).

2. Enter the installation password provided.

3. Allow the installation to run until it is complete.

⏳ Please note: The installation takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
Do not close the window until the process is completely finished.

Once the installation is complete:

1. On the desktop, locate the file with the unusual name:

🔄 Step 5 – Probe Update (optional)

If you wish to update your interface (VCI):

1. Download and install PSA Interface Checker.

2. Connect the probe to your PC.

3. Launch the tool, then follow the instructions to perform the firmware update.

✅ Step 6 – Final Check

1. Connect your interface to the vehicle and your computer.

2. Launch Diagbox 9.85 from the desktop shortcut.

3. The software should detect the probe and display the PSA home screen.

4. Check that communication with the vehicle is working correctly.

• Make sure your interface is compatible with Diagbox 9.85.

• Reactivate your antivirus once the installation is complete.
